National Association of Mothers' Centers has collaborated for several years with Postpartum Support International and the Postpartum Resource Center of New York to increase awareness, education and support services for women and families at risk or experiencing a perinatal mood disorder (including pregnancy and postpartum depression).
If you are someone you know suspects they are suffering from PPD, here are resources you can turn to:
Postpartum Support International (PSI): Many women are not prepared for the wide range of emotions they may experience after childbirth. They often feel sadness, anger, anxiety, or a sense of inadequacy. The important thing to remember is that the symptoms are temporary and treatable.
Postpartum Resource Center of NY: The Postpartum Resource Center of New York, Inc. is a self-help organization established to provide emotional support, educational information and healthcare and support group referrals to mothers suffering from prenatal and postpartum depression (PPD).
Circle of Caring Support Groups: One of the core missions of the NAMC is to educate mothers and families about postpartum depression (PPD) and help them reach out for guidance and support.
