Apr 30 2009: HELPING PARENTS CREATE THEIR ROADMAP TO SUCCESS

National Association of Mothers’ Centers Announces Partnership with Parenting on Track™

Jericho, NY (April 30, 2009) – Parents need more than the support of each other when they go home to a stubborn 2-year-old or a defiant 13-year-old – they need a roadmap. And because no two children are the same, they need a model that can be applied to their child and their family circumstances.  Vick Hoefle, founder of Parenting on Track™ delivers such a model.  The National Association of Mothers’ Centers (NAMC), a not-for-profit, has been supporting mothers in breaking the isolation many women experience when they have children and in developing the confidence to discover answers and solutions that work best for their family.  It’s a natural partnership that makes sense collectively for the two organizations and their respective clients and members.

“We feel strongly that no one knows your children better than you and we create an environment that is non-judgmental and empowering so that the mothers and fathers can discover what will work best,” shared Linda Lisi Juergens, Executive Director of the NAMC“Watching Vicki teach it was clear that she gets it and shares our philosophy.”

As part of their support and education program, NAMC is introducing Hoefle’s “Roadmap to Success” into the curriculum offered to parents nationally.  This component of the Parenting on Track™ program focuses on identifying where kids are today, where you want them to be in 6 months or 18 years, and provides tools for coming up with a plan that navigates the distance in between.  Specifically designed for NAMC, the “Roadmap for Success” gives parents tools they can use to encourage independence, self-reliance and confidence in their children.

“It is a natural fit for both organizations,” said Vick Hoefle, founder and director of Parenting on Track™.  “We both support parents in their quest to be the best they can be for their families.”

Hoefle was a presenter at the NAMC’s recent regional conference, “Connections Count” on April 25th in Simsbury, CT.  The feedback from her presentation included “She’s amazing! Advice invaluable.” “Wow! I plan to go back to our center and recommend this program!” “I loved her and want more!  Gives me a lot of hope with my teens.”   The NAMC is very excited about this partnership and what it makes available to our members.

“How wonderful Mothers’ Centers are and how grateful I am that I am part of one. I’ve been nurtured and supported, cared for and cared about. I feel inspired and more empowered in my role as a mother.”  expressed one Mothers' Center member.

The National Association of Mothers’ Centers is the leading organization that recognizes the challenges, realities and importance of mothering, offering programs that educate and support mothers in local centers, in libraries and in the workplace, as well as doing advocacy in the fields of postpartum depression, early care and education, work/life balance and the economic impact of being a care giver.  You can learn more at www.MothersCenter.org.
